Opera 101 Presents The Medium

Opera 101 students perform two nights of Gian Carlo Menotti's The Medium as a student fundraiser for Saddleback's opera program. The Medium is one of the most haunting chamber operas of the 20th Century, The story is of Madame Flora and her two protégés as they perform fake séances at the expense of their unwitting clients. Originally conceived as an Italian film noire, the music and plot are complex and powerful. Singers from the Applied Music program perform under the direction of Scott Farthing. The Songs of the Incomparable Cole Porter
